What do I need to do to apply to Scott Village?
Submit a Scott Village Housing Application along with your $250.00 security deposit / lease processing fee and return it to Scott Village, 1601 S. 64th Street, Omaha, NE 68106.

($200.00 is held for security deposit and $50.00 is your non-refundable lease-processing fee.)

Hint:
Make every effort to submit your housing application as early as possible, as we fill up quickly.

Do you only offer annual leases?
Yes, at this time we only offer annual leases at Scott Village.

When can I move in?
The scheduled move in date for the 2008-2009 lease term is August 17, 2008. If you cannot move in on August 17, that is okay. We will be able to assist you with your move in process when you arrive.

Can I move in early?
No. We ask that you adhere to the dates as outlined in your move-in information packet, which will be mailed late summer. If you have special needs, please contact Scott Village at 402-778-6541 to discuss further.

When will I know my room and roommate assignment?
All room and roommate assignments will be completed upon receipt of all roommate questionnaire forms. You should expect to receive your assignments in late summer.

Can I request a room or a roommate?
Room and roommate requests are made on your roommate request questionnaire, which is mailed to you with your lease. All room and roommate requests must match or we will be unable to grant your request.

When are my payments due?
Payments are due as follows:

Monthly payments begin on July 1, 2008 in the amount of $440.00

Semester payments are due on July 1, 2008 and December 1, 2008 in the amount of $2,580.00.

Annual payments are due on July 1, 2008 in the amount of $5,100.00

Why do I begin making rental payments on July 1, 2008?
Rental payments are made one month in advance at Scott Village. Your July payment goes toward August rent and so on.

Will I be sent a billing statement?
Billing statements are not mailed out. Please keep a copy of your lease agreement, as your billing dates are listed on the front page.

Where do I get my mail and packages?
Mailboxes are located in the Scott Village Commons Building. Residents receiving packages will have a package slip in their mailbox and can pick up their package at the Scott Village Front Desk.

Is Scott Village a non-smoking facility?
Residents are not allowed to smoke inside their suites, balconies, or patios. Smoking is permitted 10 feet away from each building.

What will I need to hook up my computer?
Internet is provided; all you will need is a Network Interface Card and a CAT 5 Ethernet cable.

What size is my bed?
Beds are regular twin size.

How high does my bed loft?
Scott Village beds loft as low as 10" and as high as 34".

What size are the beds?
Scott Village beds are a regular twin measuring 37" by 80".

What do I need to bring?
Suggested items to bring: backpack and school / desk items, laundry detergent and basket, toiletries and towels, bed linens and mattress pad (regular twin size), trash bin for your room and kitchen, tie trash bags to dispose of waste, desk lamp, living room lamp, alarm clock, kitchen cookware and dishes, bike lock if you choose to bring a bike, and telephone if you decide to purchase service.

Discuss with roommates who is bringing: T.V., stereo, iron and ironing board, kitchenware and dishes, kitchen towels, cleaning supplies, and shower curtain and hooks.

What should I not bring?
Items not to bring include: halogen lights, weapons or firearms, fireworks, candles, grills of any kind, large nails (we prefer pins or very small nails), waterbeds, pets (except fish, but no tanks over 10 gallons) and alcoholic beverages.

Do I need a UNO Parking Permit to park at Scott Village?
Yes, you will need a UNO Parking Permit to park at Scott Village. Parking permits can be purchased at Campus Security in the Eppley Administration Building on UNO’s Main Campus.

How do I find Scott Village?
Whether you are coming East or West, you take the 72nd Street exit from Interstate 80.

From the East turn right (West turn left) onto 72nd Street. Go approximately 1-1/2 miles to Pine Street (first light near the Quicktrip Gas Station).

Turn right and continue until you see College Park – Scott Residence Hall and Conference Center on the left.

Proceed and Scott Village will be located on your left.

How do I get an access card to enter my building and parking lot?
Access cards will be activated upon move in. When you pick up your UNO Student ID, make sure and tell them that you are a Scott Village Resident.

Is it necessary to have a meal plan when living at Scott Village?
No. Meal plans are optional. Scott Village suites have full kitchens, so residents can prepare meals in their suite. However, we have excellent food service next door to Scott Village at Scott Residence Hall.

How many meal plans are there to choose from?
Meal Plans are available from Scott Residence Hall Dining Services. The 2008-2009 Rates are as follows:

• Unlimited Meal Plan - $1,199.00 per semester

• 10 Meal Plan - $849.00 per semester

• 20 Meal Plan - $125.00 per card
